HIGHLIGHTS
This program features the 737-800 operated by TUI from Amsterdam to Dubai World Center. On our flight to Dubai, this program nicely highlights some of the steps taken by pilots prior to departure which includes a thorough review of dispatch documents. These documents typically contains information on the route, weather and NOTAMs pertaining to the flight and are crucial to safe operation of a flight. Once these documents are reviewed, viewers will have a jumpseat view as the pilots program the FMS and commence the startup procedure prior to departure. While enroute to Dubai, some of the highlights you can look forward to are the presentations made by the pilots as they explain various aspects of flying the 737-800 and the scenic approach and landing at Dubai which is always a special treat.
While in Dubai, this program also features a scenic aerial tour of the city of Dubai onboard a Seawings Cessna Caravan. This scenic tour was quite impressive and it nicely showcases why Dubai is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For our return to Amsterdam, we depart Dubai for Burgas where we will be making a brief refueling stop before continuing to Amsterdam. Highlights of the return flight included a cockpit presentation and a thorough walkaround of the aircraft. While it would have been nice to see a bit of the cabin service provided by TUI, the focus on the activities in the cockpit would undoubtedly be pleasing to fans of the 737. Throughout this program, I thought that the professionalism of the crew stood out and their friendly manner made you feel quite welcome in the cockpit. For anyone dreaming of becoming an airline pilot or anyone who is an avid flight simulator enthusiast, this program provides valuable insight into the day to day life of a pilot and it also shows just what it takes to fly the 737-800. For this reason, I have no problem in recommending this video for your viewing pleasure.
