FLIGHTSIMEXPO ANNOUNCES INITIAL SCHEDULE, NEW FRIDAY SEMINARS, AND OPENS HOTEL REGISTRATION

FlightSimExpo 2019 introduces Captains’ Corner, a new add-on seminar series during the afternoon of Friday, June 7, to the packed lineup of exhibits, speakers, and activities taking place all weekend long.

ORLANDO – November 19, 2018 – Following its sold-out first year event in Las Vegas, FlightSimExpo is coming to Orlando on June 7-9, 2019! North America’s community-driven flight simulation conference will take over Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® for a weekend of flight simulation and aviation fun this summer.

The conference has just launched the 2019 version of www.flightsimexpo.com, which highlights some of the exciting changes planned for 2019 and presents the initial event schedule.

This year, attendees will be able to add Captains’ Corner onto their registration. This new series of education-oriented seminars will allow enthusiastic flight simmers the opportunity to interact with leading developers and learn more about the technology they know and love. Presenters from Orbx, Prepar3D, X-Plane, and more will take attendees through in-depth presentations and Q&A sessions about scenery design, simulation configuration, PC building, and hardware tweaking and tuning. The seminars take place from 12:30 – 5:15pm on Friday, June 7, and will be available as an optional add-on with attendee registration.

The main event takes place from 9:00am on Saturday, June 8 to 3:00pm on Sunday, June 9. In 2019, the show will feature a second speaker room to allow for even more interaction with flight simulation developers. Meanwhile, a larger event floor will welcome more exhibitors with interactive exhibits including virtual reality displays and landing competitions. Of course, the event will still feature a social event—with free appetizers and drinks—on Saturday beginning at 5:30pm.

In 2019, FlightSimExpo is proud to announce a new series of partnerships with leading flight simulation developers Aerosoft, Navigraph, Orbx, PMDG, Prepar3D, SimMarket, and X-Plane. As Diamond Sponsors, these developers play an important role in the sustainability of this conference. The event looks forward to introducing developers of all sizes to its 2019 Exhibitor & Sponsor Opportunities: visit www.flightsimexpo.com for more information on how to get involved as an exhibitor, sponsor, or speaker!

For conference attendees, registration begins in December, with a very limited number of $50 Advance Registration tickets available. Attendees can subscribe online now to receive an email notification when Advance Registration opens.

Attendees already making plans to attend can book hotel rooms now and find out more information about travel discounts from WestJet, Delta Airlines, and Lyft at www.flightsimexpo.com, The conference has also partnered with Visit Orlando to offer attendees discounts and deals at over 70 restaurants and attractions through the Show your Badge and Save program .

FlightSimExpo encourages attendees to stay in touch! Check out videos of our 2018 event on YouTube or just like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter   for the latest event details.

HIGHLIGHTS

An inaugural flight to a new destination is always a special occasion. Typically, an airline will pulls out all of the stops to ensure that this particular flight will be a memorable one. In this video, we not only have the opportunity to experience the celebratory atmosphere of an inaugural flight to Miami, but we will also be getting a taste of what it’s like to flying onboard a new airline. Air Italy was formed in 2018 after the merger of Meridian and the previous Air Italy. With Qatar Airways having a 49% stake in this airline, we can be sure that there can only be good things to look forward to from this airline in the future. Though the airline plans on having a fleet of 787s and 737 MAX aircraft, presently they are utilizing an A330 for their long haul operations while also using older 767s and 737NGs which will soon be replaced.

For our flight to Miami from Milan, we start off with a view of the lounge area as the passengers and employees enjoy some of the treats provided by the airline for this special occasion. Once onboard the aircraft, our flight crew begins the necessary preparations for our flight by setting up the MCDU and completing their departure briefing. In addition to this being an inaugural flight, we also are privileged to experience a line check in action as one of our pilots is evaluated. If you are interested in how a line check is done, there is a very nice presentation on this process while enroute to Miami. Other highlights enroute included presentations from the pilots on our routing and some insightful information on the future plans of this airline. Another interesting highlight was a presentation that centered on the role of a flight attendant and the services available in the cabin of this aircraft. To the average flying passenger, or someone considering a career avidation, perhaps this is a segment you may find quite interesting.

After an uneventful but beautiful landing in Miami, it was a great experience to witness a water cannon salute from the cockpit (this was also done at the departure airport) and it was also a nice touch to include a brief boat tour of Miami prior to our return flight. For the return flight to Milan, fans of the A330 will be quite pleased with the cockpit presentation which showcases some of the advanced systems of this aircraft, while also enjoying some of the most amazing views from the cockpit prior to landing. For viewers who are particularly interested in the visual aspect of this video, Just Planes has done an outstanding job in camera placement and in their editing to ensure that the viewers enjoy an immersive experience during all phases of flight. My personal favorites were the landing and departure out of Miami which was a scenic and enjoyable experience. Ultimately, if you are an aviation enthusiast at heart, this video surely worth adding to your collection and we certainly look forward to seeing more from this new and promising airline.

HIGHLIGHTS

With the 747-400 slowly being retired from passenger operations, it’s becoming a very rare opportunity to fly onboard this iconic aircraft. This program features a roundtrip flight from Casablanca to Montreal onboard the 747-400 and it features many interesting highlights that will appeal to all aviation enthusiast for years to come. After taking the viewers on an exterior walkaround of the aircraft, our First Officer takes us to the flight deck where the remaining departure procedures are completed. Once airborne, there were numerous segments which featured stunning scenery and presentations from the pilots covering our routing and other intriguing bits of information on the 747.

Throughout the first flight to Vancouver, it was quite evident that both of our pilots truly loved flying the 747. In a presentation made by the First Officer, it was quite evident that she was especially fond of the 747-400 while also enlightening the viewers on how she got into aviation. Her story, while not especially unique, was inspiring and I am sure that many young viewers will be interested in knowing how they can also become a pilot. During the Captain’s presentation, we learn about his career, the operations of Royal Air Maroc and the operations of the B747. While we all enjoy the flying aspects of these videos, learning from experienced pilots is always an enjoyable and enlightening feature of these programs.

The final highlight worth mentioning centers on the return flight to Casablanca. During this segment the viewers will have the opportunity to experience a cockpit presentation by the First Officer which was sufficiently detailed for anyone wanting to learn more about the 747 cockpit layout and systems. Personally, I’ve always enjoyed the cockpit presentations featured in these programs and I’ve found that on each occasion, you can learn more and more about the same aircraft.

To conclude, I think that this program was a unique and memorable look at the operations of the 747-400. I appreciated the excitement and professionalism of the crew and I also enjoyed the fine editing done by the producer of this program. With numerous cameras throughout the cockpit, there was no shortage of perspective and just in case you missed something, the periodic replays were a nice addition. With this being the second program to feature Royal Air Maroc, it’s quite evident that this airline loves sharing its passion for aviation. It is my hope that we continue to see more of this airline in the future and perhaps more featuring the Queen of the Skies.

It´s end of year website update time once again at HJG/Historic Jetliners Group.

This year though .... and for "logistical reasons" only .... the groups traditional December/Christmas releases are not only commencing earlier than usual, but, are also being split into 2 separate website updates .... since HJG do have "a lot of work" yet to be released within what little remains of this 2018 year and for everyones virtual jetliner enjoyment.

"PHASE 1" of this latest HJG website update is composed of some 79 high quality and authentic textures for its ARJ/BAe 146, B707. B727, B737, DC-8. DC-9, DC-10, and MD-80/90 flightline .... representing the liveries of both major and lesser known operators of these aircraft from Australia, the Bahamas, Belguim, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Cyprus, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malta, Malaysia, Nauru, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, UK, the Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, and Zambia .... .... indeed some of the best of both past and present historic civil aviation worlds have come to roost at HJG.

The above releases are now all currently available for everyones "FREE" FS enjoyment.

For further information concerning these new and upgraded files please refer to the following-linked HJG forum website update announcement  .

The HJG website is located HERE

"PHASE 2" of HJG´s December/Christmas intended releases will be available soon also and another separate website update.

Lionheart Creations Proton Stingrey

Lionheart Creations is proud to announce the release of its latest plane; the Proton Stingrey.  This package is a look into the future of General Aviation with a focus on modern electric propulsion.  The Stingrey is a two passenger 'flying wing' that has similar design features to the vintage Arup German sport planes of the 1930's, and also the famous Chance Voight V-173 Flying Flapjack.  The Stingrey is designed to be both a STOL Bush plane of the future as well as an extreme aerobatic capable vehicle.  The Stingrey features no rudders as it is a flying wing and lifting body.  Yaw axis controls are through spoiler panels and computer 'feathering' of the prop fans on each side.  This enables the sleek saucer-like craft to do 'flat turns' without banking.  The Stingrey has quite a lot of features including a voice system, STOL pods that aim up for short field take-offs, 3 variants from standard Retractable Gear (RG) to Fixed Gear (less expensive, slower, more rugged) FG version, and also the Amphibian model with retractables for both land and water landings.  The soundpack features a wild new sound series for an electric plane.  For more information, you can learn more about the Proton Stingrey here
